Our Team.

Steel the Shot was founded in 2020 by Joshua Steel, our Lead Videographer. Since childhood, Josh has always had a passion for film, including listening to composers of movie scores. This has influenced his work today, giving him a passion for storytelling through film. 

In 2024, Josh was joined by his sister, Hollie, our Lead Photographer and Artistic Director.   

Hollie received her first camera at only 9 years old, and has been taking photographs ever since. As a child, she loved having something to look back on. Life is short, but photo's last forever and allow us to hold onto memories long after they have passed.

 

Josh & Hollie have a close relationship and work very well together. They both have extensive backgrounds in the arts and are so happy they can bring together their shared love of creativity. 

They both agree that the best images and film are the ones that make you feel something. Every couple, family and story is completely unique, and that’s what inspires them to create work that feels personal, authentic and timeless.

 

Steel the Shot has gone from small beginnings to a thriving business, and our family team grew with the addition to Josh & Hollie’s mum, Nina, our Business Director. Keeping it in the family! 

With Nina’s incredible support we reached an amazing milestone - in 2026 we became fully booked for the year! What started as a small family passion has grown into something we’re incredibly proud of. We’re so excited to welcome new families into the Steel the Shot story.
